HEAL
(Jalaluddin Mevlana Rumi - 1251)
This is a story of a team of men and women of all religious denominations.
In November, 1948 John Britnell, B.E.M., gave his first demonstration of spiritual healing in a small church at Forest Gate, London. Within a year he had gathered around him a small band of healers and formed the Essex Healers’ Association. From this small beginning was built up an organisation of some hundreds of healers and associate workers.
In recent years the influence of the Essex Healers’ Association has become well known throughout Essex and, indeed, in other parts of the country where we have members. Many public healing services have been held and by this means hundreds of sick people have had the opportunity of receiving this form of therapy and being helped.
It was largely as a result of John Britnell’s early years of pioneering work that the Essex Healers’ Association has built up the prestige it now enjoys with its recognition in various local newspapers and its acceptance as a charitable organisation.
In addition to the public services mentioned above, our members give their time voluntarily to work in churches, sanctuaries and in their homes without fees. For those who cannot attend places of healing the Association runs a visiting pool through its honorary registrar who reports on visits arranged at the committee meetings.
The progress and prestige of the Association has been built upon the success in helping the sick often when medical science can do no more. Behind all this activity lies a spiritual purpose. This is to prove, through the truth of spiritual healing, that the human family is akin to spirit under the divine plan for the progression of mankind. All people of goodwill are invited to support the Essex Healers’ Association’s work by becoming associate members and helping in ways they can. All healers are invited to become members of the Association but it is made clear that their role as healers must be established.
We believe that spiritual healing and medical practice are complementary to each other. We seek to co-operate with the medical profession; we are not opposed to it. We also seek to co-operate with all forms of devotional and religious movements, believing that healing is God’s gift to all his children irrespective of race or creed.
We face the future with supreme confidence as we endeavour to fulfil the commandment to ‘Heal the Sick’ knowing that this has more than a physical significance fulfilling a divine and spiritual purpose. In this we look for the support of all who think likewise, so bringing nearer the coming of Brotherhood of Man under the Fatherhood of God.

Probationary healers are trained for a year under the supervision of a certified healer, working to the Code of Conduct and practice of the EHA. All healers are insured under a policy taken out by the HEALER PRACTITIONER ASSOCIATION INTERNATIONAL and encouraged to train as Healer Counsellors.

EHA Members give their services voluntarily to heal and counsel in Churches and groups throughout the county to people of all denominations. People who are unable to attend places of healing can be offered home or hospital healing by contacting the Visiting Pool Secretary.
We believe that spiritual and medical practice are complimentary to each other and we work together to help all patients.
